First Quarter Update 2025

This first quarter has quickly flown by and we would like to briefly tell you what has been happening with Bethesda and what the Lord has allowed us to do in Romania.

Short Missionary Trips

This year’s initiative is that we have opened visits to the areas where we work to those who are suited for this type of short missionary activity. The goal of these short trips is to allow even those with fewer resources (both financial and time) to have a short but intense experience that helps both us and the churches that send them. During the trips, time is spent working on the maintenance of the center, distributing aid, participating in spiritual activities and visiting the churches with which we collaborate.

Anyone who would like to have this type of experience can fill out the online form that includes all the requirements, rules, responsibilities and codes of conduct to adhere to during the short stay at our center or the facilities that host us. A training session (mandatory) is planned to spiritually prepare for the experience…

A special thanks to those from the Christian Group of Parma, Chiesa Veritas, Chiesa Ancora di Salvezza (Guidonia), Chiesa Forte Rocca (Udine) and many other brothers and sisters who have worked hard like Saverio, Lidia and Enrico, in addition to members of Bethesda who have traveled with us.

Winter fundraising campaign 2024-2025

The winter campaign ended on February 28th and we are truly grateful to the Lord for all that we were able to collect and distribute in the areas where we work. In addition to end-of-year gift packages to give to the children who attend the center, we were able to distribute about a hundred food packages, buy winter clothing and organize soup kitchens for the people who regularly attend meetings organized by the communities we support.

It was nice to be able to share this experience with those who traveled with us. What we often do is visit families, bringing one or more food packages and clothing, staying with them to hear updates on their personal situations and then praying with them so the Lord will work in their lives.

During these visits, SMT participants are sometimes amazed by the level of poverty of some families and it is not easy not to be moved when meeting young mothers who show desperation in their eyes because they would like to be able to give more to their children, but are unable to… Even though we have been doing this work for years, we too are always taken aback by certain situations.

Church visits

Our presentations about the work of Bethesda in Italian churches continues. This quarter we visited the churches Nuova Vita of Caronno Pertusella (Va), Chiesa Dei Fratelli Torino (Via Negarville), Chiesa Evangelica of Asti, Chiesa Azione Biblica of Turin.

During these presentations, in addition to the wonderful fellowship in local churches, it is a way to deepen the various needs and close connections are established with many believers (especially young people) who feel in their hearts called to participate with us in this work.

We are truly grateful for how much the churches are supportive of the needs of the work. May God always bless them and continue to work in the lives of believers.

Summer camp collection

The fundraising for Bethesda’s highlight of the year has just started. Again this year we would like to bring many children to our summer camps in Romania. They are all eagerly awaiting the moment that they can spend enjoyable time together, alleviating the burden of their lives, often living in poverty and suffering. Our programs include many activities, including games, music, creative activities, workshops, stories from the Bible and the much anticipated meal time.
